The device (1) for gathering particularly roses comprises a positioning arm (5) with gripping devices at its outer end and for a flower stem. These devices comprise a ring-shaped body for surrounding a stem and moving it towards the positioning arm. A drive mechanism is incorporated in the arm for the gripping devices. The gripping devices also incorporate a loop-shaped body and a cable. The drive mechanism enlarges or reduces the space within the loop-shaped body. The positioning arm has cutting devices and is hinged to a machine frame (2), which is mobile. Devices (7) are present on the frame for guiding the one end of the positioning arm to the flower stem for gripping by the gripping devices.
