摘要

The invention relates to a method for obtaining a sunflower plant with increased stearic acid content, to a sunflower plant obtained by this method and to sunflower oil obtained from the plant. The parental seeds are treated with a mutagen agent, such as 70 mM solution of ethyl methane sulphonate and 2 mM solution of sodium azide. The mutagen agent concentrations were thus established to induce mutations at the level of the genetic factor involved in the stearic acid biosynthesis. There took place the germination of the treated seeds followed by cultivating the descendants thereof, selecting the resulting seeds and repeating this cycle. The obtained sunflower plant has a stearic acid content ranging from 29 % to 54 %, from 19.1 % to 35 % or 10 % to 19 % of the total amount of fatty acids, depending on the employed mutagen agent.
