The invention provides a composition made of Chinese medicinal herbs for treatment of coronory heart disease and angina pectoris and the process for the production thereof. The composition can be formulated to a dosage form from dried root of Valeriana officinalis L. and dried root of Saliva miltiorrhiza Beg. at their weight ratio of 1-10 to 1. The composition has features of exact, stable and lasting curative effect, quickly taking effect and low side effect. Therefore, it is able to overcome these defects of high side effect of chemical medications existing and slowly taking effect of known traditional Chinese medicine.
