Method of rejection of unknown words in isolated words speech recognition

The method involves calculating a score value in the speech recognition unit, and selecting the word with the smallest score value. If the score is smaller then a predetermined threshold value the word is accepted and a recognition flag is set. If the score value is larger than the threshold value, the word is recognized as not being in the dictionary and is rejected. The score value can be selected to be specific to a given word, and is pref. calculated based on Hidden Markov models.
