Friction welded pipe joint and friction welded stone drill with coolant channel

The drill pipe has hollow pipe sections with a friction weld at their coaxial butting joints (2,2'). They are assembled together with a rock drill (10), and a channel (11) for the drilling fluid. An ignition sleeve (5,5') is within the hollow interior at the butting joints, and is bonded with a force fit to at least one of the pipe sections at the joint.
