ADHESIVE COMPOSITION FOR AUTOMOBILE HEM FLANGE STRUCTURES AND PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING AUTOMOBILE HEM FLANGE STRUCTURES USING SAME

PURPOSE: Provided are an adhesive composition for automobile hem flange structure and the preparation method of the hem flange using the same composition. The composition has irregular metal granules which joint the exterior and interior panels strongly. It gives also proper handling strength to the structure. CONSTITUTION: The composition comprises 30-70wt.% of epoxy resin, 3-8wt.% of hardening agent, 0.1-4wt.% hardening accelerator, 5-60wt.% of filler, 1-6wt.% of moisture absorber, 1-5wt.% of viscosity controller, 0.5-3wt.% of conductivity imparting agent, 0.5-5wt.% of stabilizer, 0.5-4wt.% of anti-corrosive agent and 1-8wt.% of irregular granules of stainless steel or ceramics with 100-700 micrometers of diameter. The preparation method of the structure includes: coating the adhesive containing irregular metal granules(1a)(1b) and adhesive composition(1) on the first panel(10); locating the second panel(12) on the above coated first panel in length direction so that they overlap in a part; and folding the first panel which is not overlapped toward the second panel, compressing with 200-400kg force on the overlapping part so that the metal granules dig into the surface of the first and the second panel.
