PURPOSE: Provided are inorganic salt type chloride ion-sensitive composition with distinct selectivity of Cl- and excellent electrochemical property, the preparation method of inorganic salt type chloride ion-sensitive membrane using the composition, and chloride ion-sensitive electrode using the membrane with improved reliability compared to a conventional chloride ion-sensitive electrode. CONSTITUTION: The chloride ion-sensitive composition is prepared by mixing Ag2S and AgCl in a weight ratio of 1.73 : 1, where the precipitates, Ag2S and AgCl, are formed by mixing AgNO3, Na2S and KCl in a molar ratio of 3 : 1 : 1.3 at 75deg.C for 1hr., which are represented by the formulas, 2AgNO3 + Na2S --Ag2S + 2NaNO3, AgNO3 + KCl --AgCl + KNO3. The chloride ion-sensitive membrane is obtained by the following steps: washing the composition with 80deg.C of water and acetone, and filtering; drying at 70deg.C over 12hrs.; powdering; pressing 0.5g of the composition under 4-5ton/cm¬2 of pressure. The chloride ion-sensitive electrode(100) comprises the parts of: an electrode body(110) with an inlet(112) for an inner reference solution prepared by saturating 80-95wt.% of glycerol solution with KCl; a working electrode(120), the prepared membrane, with potential change according to the concentration of Cl- in a sample solution; a reference electrode(130), Ag/AgCl, with constant potential; a liquid junction part(140), a ceramic rod with 5mm of diameter and less than 6mm of thickness, which keeps an outflow speed of the inner reference solution constant, 3-30microliter/hr.; and an electrode-connecting part.
