PURPOSE: Provided are a Saururus chinensis extract having prevention and treatment effects on neurodegenerative disease and a pharmaceutical preparation containing the extract as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION: The extract of Saururus chinensis is obtained by extracting Saururus chinensis with organic solvent then removing the solvent therefrom. The pharmaceutical preparation is manufactured by mixing the extract of Saururus chinensis with pharmaceutically acceptable excipient then formulating the mixture into a preparation. The preparation has prevention and treatment effects on neurodegenerative disease.
