APPARATUS FOR AUTO-EVALUATION OF FABRIC WRINKLE AND SEAM PUCKER AND PROCESS FOR THE SAME

PURPOSE: An apparatus for automatic evaluation of fabric wrinkle and seam pucker is provided to easily and correctly determine parameters of fabric products even by unskilled person by establishing a new standard of grading features of fabric. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises fabric sample(6) transfer element(4); laser radiation element(3) to form desired laser profile on the fabric sample; CCD camera to form image of the laser profile from the laser element; halogen light radiation element to illuminate a compensation plate for correcting the image from the CCD camera; a dark room element enclosing the transfer element, laser element, CCD camera and the halogen light radiation element to obtain a clear image of the profile; and a computer to take out height information of the sample and calculate fractal dimension of the sample by applying three-dimensional surface information including the height information in order to display a quantitative quality grade of the fabric sample.
