The data transfer rate matching method is used for matching the data transmission/reception rates of different processors between which data is transferred, e.g. a computer processor and a printer processor. It uses temporary storage of the data in a first-in-first-out memory (10). The data provided by the transmitting processor is divided into sections. Each is evaluated for identifying valid data, with storage of the valid data before transfer to the receiving processor.
