A simulation area ( OMICRON ) is defined and the data are stored and marginal conditions are input and stored. Grid area and grid cells extending over the simulation area are determined, to determine and classify inner and outer B-splines of preset grid width and degree (n) in the simulation area. Coupling coefficients (ei,j) for linear combinations of inner and outer B-splines are evaluated, which are stored and output as parameters for the basic functions. An Independent claim is also included for computer device with improved finite element simulation based basic functions.
