摘要

A machining tool (14) is inserted in a drilled hole (11) in a workpiece (10). It fits on an inner wall surface of the side of the drilled hole and has an operating device (18) e.g. a grinding wheel, on its perimeter as the workpiece rotates. For online detection of a cut during the machining process, the wall thickness of the side of the drilled hole is continuously measured. The measuring process uses ultra-sound at spots on the workpiece between the outer surface of the workpiece and the inner wall surface surrounding the drilled hole.
