To control the push forces (S) on a web, at the double fourdrinier and/or press sections of a papermaking or cardboard production machine, monitors (9) measure the push forces which are formed by the force components above and the below the web. The monitors are linked to an evaluation unit (12) which acts on a control system (10), to set the loads on the web working groups (8.1,8.2) to minimize/optimize the push forces. To control the push forces on a paper/cardboard web, the force components above and below the web are established in the direction of web travel. The push forces are determined at the working zone of the two fourdriniers (3.1,3.2) or blankets with the web between them, or at the roller support assemblies. The load distribution on the web working groups, acting on the fourdriniers/blankets, is adjusted together or separately. An Independent claim is included for a double fourdrinier (2) or press section, at a papermaking or cardboard production machine, with a number of monitors linked to an evaluation unit to register the forces at the fourdriniers/blankets above and below the web, for adjustments to be made to the loadings on the working units for them. Preferred Features: The monitors are pressure sensors, measurement bolts (9.1), expansion strip meters, and the like. The monitors are placed in a zone where the fourdriniers/blankets travel on parallel paths, or at the roller supports.
