The foundations consist of tubes (10), rammed into the ocean bed, which carry a support frame (14) for the tower of the generating plant. Joints (22) between the support frame and the free ends of the tubes permit movement of the frame in all directions. The support frame incorporates horizontal cross struts (16), and frame and joints are positioned above the wave motion to be expected. The joints are spherical joints, and engage into and are fastened to the tubes via pipe sockets (24).
