Contactless measurement of the surface profile of objects using an optical triangulation method in which different scales are used for vertical and horizontal axes of the object image to improve measurement accuracy
Light section triangulation method for contactless measurement of the surface profile of an object (4) using a light beam (2) from a light source (1). The light beam creates a trace (3) on the surface of the object that is reflected at an angle ( alpha ) to the light source and detected by a detector device (5, 6). The reflected light is imaged with different scales in the vertical and horizontal directions. The invention also relates to a corresponding device. The scale in the vertical direction is greater than in the horizontal direction. Typically CCD or CMOS matrix detectors are used.
