Production of modified bitumen (I) by continuous supply of additives comprises: (a) passing liquid bitumen through a heated jet apparatus at 130-250 deg C; (b) sucking up additives in flowable form to be blended in the jet apparatus, part of the liquid bitumen being supplied to the additives before entry into the jet; and (c) collecting the obtained (I) for further maturation, homogenization and/or processing. An Independent claim is included for corresponding apparatus for producing (I), consisting of a jet apparatus with a nozzle for liquid bitumen as propellant, where: the jet housing and chamber is surrounded by a heating mantle having inlets and outlets for heating fluid; the jet apparatus includes a funnel with a heatable rising system for supplying the additive; and before the jet apparatus a branch is provided for supplying part of the propellant to rinse the additive in the supply funnel.
