The device has an analog-to-digital converter unit (1) for converting analog input signals into digital ones, a filter unit (2) for filtering noise signals from the digital input signals and an xDSL unit (3) for implementing a digital subscriber line. The filter unit contains a three-dimensional statistical filter with frequency-selective weighting for filtering pulsed noise. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of compensating pulsed noise in xDSL systems.
