Method for testing a wiring harness (14) for test motor vehicles using a test program running on a computer (12) to test the computer. Accordingly the individual cables of the harness are tested for continuity and short circuits. The inventive test program automatically generates data relating to computer supported development of the wiring harness. An Independent claim is included for a corresponding arrangement for testing a motor vehicle wiring harness.
