A display- and signal-device has a frame (6) having several adjacently mounted columns with cross-sectional-edge lengths of an equilateral triangle, the columns being rotatably mounted (1,2,7,8) with their three outer faces turned through 120 degrees to the viewer. One or more columns are sub-divided along their length into two or more columns of any appropriate length and each column can turn its three outer-faces to the viewer by a separate drive (3,4), with an assigned control circuit (5), independently of the remaining columns.
