Process for casting metallic components made from at least two different materials comprises: applying an aluminum-based alloy layer to a body based on an iron alloy; placing the coated body in a casting mold; applying a fluxing agent to the metallic layer; and casting around the coated body with an aluminum-based alloy. The fluxing agent is applied to the metallic layer so that a metallurgical bond is formed between the casting material and the metallic layer. Preferred Features: The fluxing agent is made from a eutectic composition consisting of K3AlF6 and KAlF4. The metallic layer is applied by thermal spraying or by immersing into a metal melt.
