The belt buckle mounting has a center section (8) with a sheathe (10) in the form of a sleeve-type textile material. The sheathe covers the whole center section of the belt buckle mounting (2). The sheathe bears by its upper end against an underside of the belt buckle and may be fastened to it by an elastic band or press stud. Independent claims are included for a motor vehicle equipped with the proposed belt buckle mounting, for a sheathe for the belt buckle mounting, and for a method of covering a belt buckle mounting by a sleeve-type textile material.
