Bioautographic detection of fungicides (I) by applying a fungal suspension to a dried, developed thin-layer chromatography plate (A); incubating the plate and determining zones of inhibition by fluorescence quenching and/or staining with an optical brightener. An Independent claim is also included for a test kit for the method comprising nutrient medium; linear heteropolysaccharide (II) as gelling agent and a storage-stable test strain for preparation of the fungal suspension.
