Required control pressure is determined using a first feedback linearization control law, expressed e.g. as an equation. A required servo valve piston position is determined, using a second feedback linearization control. Pump delivery pressure is controlled as a function of the first and second laws. An Independent claim is included for corresponding equipment in which the pump has a swashplate, and connected servo-valve, which controls swashplate inclination, with feedback as indicated.
