Method for determining the service life on unequally loaded components based on the critical sectional-plane method. The method can be extended to non-proportionally loaded components. Thus in addition to determination of the critical sectional plane, the direction (R) in which loading will cause the shortest lifetime is also determined. As the critical sectional plane is not known initially, the direction determination must be carried out for each plane.
