The number of plots to be processed by the tracker (22) is regulated by a device (20) which calculates (30) the risk value of each plot according to a determinate law which is a function of its characteristics. The filter (32) handles plots as a function of their correlation (36) with those of tracks established during preceding revolutions of the antenna. Plots uncorrelated with an existing track are filtered (38) as a function of the retained risk (34). Fresh plots are transmitted for tracking if their computed risk value is less than or equal to a regulatory value (Ri).
