A water treatment apparatus comprises a high pressure pump for conveying high purity drinking water treated by e.g., reverse osmosis, ultra filtration or distillation treatment, into a closed container. An ozone injector injects ozone into the conveyed water. Cooler cools the water in the container and supersonic vibrator keeps the ozone dissolved in the water. A water treatment apparatus for raising oxygen solubility in high purity drinking water comprises a high pressure pump (1) for conveying the drinking water into a closed container (3). The drinking water has been treated by reverse osmosis, ultra filtration or distillation treatment. The pressure pump has a capacity of 3-200 kg/cm2. An ozone injector (2) supplies into the closed container the conveyed drinking water with 5-100 ppm ozone per 1 ton of water. The closed container has an interior that is kept at a preset pressure, an inlet (30) for guiding the drinking water to its interior, and an outlet (31) adapted during use of the water. A cooler (4) is affixed around the container. It includes a compressor (40) and a condenser (41) for cooling and keeping the water in the container at a preset low temperature. A supersonic vibrator (5) is affixed to the closed container for stirring the drinking water in the container in an even condition. This process allows for an increase mutual percolating force, penetrating force, dispersing dimension, and contacting dimension of ozone with water and thus, raising also oxygen solubility in drinking water and prolonging period of time for sterilization. An Independent claim is also included for a method of treating water employing the inventive water treatment apparatus.
