The set of data is transformed (220) into wavelets without sub-sampling, at a particular resolution level. The approximation sub-band arising from this is then sub-sampled (222). The sub-sampled approximation sub-band for each of the current and preceding image sub-sets is then decomposed (224) by wavelet transformation at another resolution level.
