The square mounting piece (10) comprises a horizontal web (12) with a lower face in contact with the upper face of a backing strip (32) and an upper face in contact with the underside of the strip (30). The thickness of the horizontal web defines a first spacer dimension (b) between the strip underside and the backing strip. The mounting piece has a vertical web (20) extending over a height less than the thickness of a strip and has a first face in contact with one of the strip edges and a second face in contact with the opposite edge of an adjacent strip. The vertical web defines a second spacer dimension (a) between the two opposite edges of adjacent strips. The vertical web faces carry anchoring means (22) to the strip edge.
