The feeding installation is above a service corridor (5) of adjacent collective enclosures (2) whose volume can be horizontally reduced by the bottom barrier (14) which is moved by carriages running inside rails (13) fixed on some lateral barriers. It can be moved vertically by lowering the front barrier (18) above the animals' back so as to constitute a collective cage with an adjustable volume at the time of feeding. The bottom barrier is pulled toward the corridor by cables (31) which are wound around a horizontal shaft (26) fixed on the front by bearings and rotated by a crankshaft.
