The three-way tap allows take-off from a pipe from the side or above It has a main take-off port (10), lateral port (12) and an aperture (11) for inserting a piercing tool. The central chamber contains a three-way ball. This has seatings, into which the end of a control handle (13) can be inserted. A stop on the handle fits against stops (14 -16) on opposite sides of each port when the tap is fully open or fully closed.
