Object oriented database operating system architecture, uses objects stored in database which are linked together objects can be manipulated using an object oriented language

The architecture integrates a database with objects allowing the storage of files and application objects for improved sharing and manipulation of system data. The architecture is particularly adapted to the publication of journals on the World Wide Web using an object approach and improved integration of components. The system cab be used for archiving journals on the Internet Network. In this architecture the file management system is suppressed and all the objects are stored in a base. Files do not exist but are represented by objects stored in the base, linked together. The objects are accessible using a data manipulation language or can be used with other objects and linked to procedures written in an object oriented language. The database engine ensures the operating functions of the base operating system: process management, transaction management, access to data, management of transaction spread and object distribution on the network. All the objects: system or material objects, application objects, data and methods, user interface graphic objects are stored in the base under different connection accounts, in local or distributed databases.
