A method of securing a circular member to the end of a tubular body and more particularly to a conveyor idler roller in which a bearing housing 3 is secured to each end of a cylindrical tube 1. The bearing housings 3 each having a circumferential groove 9. Each bearing housing 3 is at least partly fittable in an end of the cylindrical tube 1 and the respective ends 12 of the tube 1 deformed into the circumferential grooves 9. The tube 1 and bearing housings 3 may be made of a plastics material. To secure the bearing housings 3 to the tube 1, the end of the tube may be pre-heated and the bearing housing pressed into the tube end by an axial force applied to a die 10.
