PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support structure of a lining plate and a lining method capable of reducing a previous excavating quantity.;SOLUTION: This support structure improves a structure for placing the lining plate 8 on a receiving beam 7 by placing the receiving beam 7 at a prescribed interval in the lateral direction on a beam seat 6 by arranging the beam seat 6 in the direction of an excavated groove 1 on the upper left and right both sides of an excavation work position under a road surface. That is, in this method, the beam seat 6 has an angle-shaped cross-sectional part so as to place an end part of the receiving beam 7 along an end surface and an end part under surface of the receiving beam 7, and is placed and arranged on the ground 2 under the vicinity of the excavated road surface. A vertical piece part 6a of the angle-shaped cross-sectional part of the beam seat 6 constitutes an earth retaining wall to the receiving beam 7 side under the vicinity of the road surface, and the vertical piece part 6a of the angle-shaped cross- sectional part of the beam seat 6 also serves as a regulating plate for regulating a lateral movement of the lining plate 8 placed on the receiving beam 7.
