Compositions for application to the skin, hair, and mucous or semi-mucous membranes comprising an aqueous dispersion of filmogenic polymer particles together with, an antimicrobial, especially antibacterial and antifungal, agent, containing 1,2-pentane diol. An Independent claim is also included for a process of providing antimicrobial protection to the composition.
