PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low carat gold alloy for general ornaments or the like which obtained from a gold alloy for dental casting.;SOLUTION: The low carat gold alloy has a composition containing 25 to 55% gold, 0.1 to 10% indium, 0.1 to 20% copper, 0.1 to 10% zinc, 0.1 to 10% tin, 0.01 to 15% platinum group elements and 0.01 to 3.0% cobalt, and the balance substantially silver. In the gold alloy, a gold color is strengthened in a low carat at which the cast skin of a cast body is not blackened, and mechanical properties are improved by adding cobalt thereto. When used in applications from dental casting use to an alloy for general ornaments, not only various properties required for ornaments or the like are satisfied, but also a casting stage is extremely simplified and shortened, and cleaning waste water treatment or the like are also made simple, so that a remarkable economical effect can be expected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
