PURPOSE: To make a separator, which removes contaminating particles from hydrocarbon oils, suitable for separating catalyst fines from various oil fractions by forming glass beads with a chemical composition incorporating silicon oxide and potassium oxide with respective specified contents. ;CONSTITUTION: Glass beads, which form a glass beads bed 54 of an electrostatic beads bed separator 50, are formed with fine glass beads, formed with a chemical composition comprising at least 50% silicon oxide and at least 10% potassium oxide.
