PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seedling pot which enables the sure arrival of the roots of a seedling at a soil base having an underflow water layer in a sandy area bottom portion even under the soil property and weather conditions of a sand dune, desert, or arid area, under which the greening is difficult, thereby promotes the rooting of the seedling, and can steadily biologically be degraded not to remain in environments. PSOLUTION: This biodegradable seedling pot comprises a cylindrical outer layer 1 formed from biodegradable non-woody fibers and having a prescribed height, an intermediate layer 2 formed by kneading palm with the shells of a shellfish such as oyster, a crustacean such as crab, coral, or the like and then compression-molding the kneaded product in a cylindrical shape, and an inner layer 3 comprising the mixture of soil with fertilizers, wherein the intermediate layer 2 is formed as units divided into a plurality of stages in the outer layer 1, and wherein the seedling pot has a structure that the seedling pot can vertically be fit and joined to other seedling pots.
