PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a WDM (Win32 driver model) network design device for designing more optimal combination at high speed even in the case of a large-scale problem.;SOLUTION: Information about allocatable equipment candidates, predicted demands and a design parameter are inputted in a design information input means 11. A route candidate design means 12 designs a plurality of candidates for paths for storing the predicted demands by using the allocatable equipment candidates on the basis of the inputted information. A route candidate combination design means 13 selects proper combination of the routes from the candidates for the routes designed by the route candidate design means 12 by using genetic algorithm so that an inexpensive WDM network is constructed.
