PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure flexible, low-cost, low-risk and quick distribution base development by a shipper company by following demand trends for merchandise and business chances according to the situation.;SOLUTION: At a shipper company distribution base, an I-container A105 with an information processing function capable of externally transmitting and receiving information for management of contained merchandise is packed with merchandise depending on demand forecasting and the like, and is sent to a regional distribution base A202. At the regional distribution base A202, the I-container A105 is connected to a sale and inventory management system A107 of the shipper via an I-container management system A207 and a network A114, whereupon an individual item of merchandise is picked from the I- container A105 and shipped upon a shipping instruction by the shipper, and the merchandise in the I-container A105 is inventoried intensively in real time from the sale and inventory management system A107 of the shipper.
