PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copolymer latex for moisture-proof paper, capable of giving moisture-proof coated paper which is suitably used in packaging food products, smells extremely little, and is excellent in moisture-proofness, to provide a method for producing the same, to provide a coating composition for the moisture-proof paper, and to provide the moisture-proof coated paper obtained by coating the coating composition.;SOLUTION: The method for producing the copolymer latex for the moisture- proof paper comprises blowing a specified amount of steam into a starting copolymer latex and then subjecting the resultant to steam distillation, wherein the starting copolymer latex is obtained by copolymerizing 25-70 wt.% of an aliphatic conjugated diene-based monomer, 5-40 wt.% of an aromatic vinyl monomer, 5-50 wt.% of an ethylenically unsaturated acid monomer, and 0-10 wt.% of another ethylenically unsaturated monomer which is coplymerizable with the above monomers, and has a particle diameter of 30-120 nm. The coating composition contains the latex, pigment, and the like. The moisture-proof coated paper is obtained by coating the coating composition.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
