PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly detect a leak position of a pipe, in a gridiron formed by communicating and connecting a plurality of pipes with one another in a mesh-like form.;SOLUTION: This pipe leak position detection method is used for detecting the leak position D of piping in the gridiron N formed by communicating and connecting the plurality of pipes 1 with one another and by connecting a fluid feeding source 2 to a plurality of fluid using terminals 3. The gridiron is changed over to a detecting gridiron E formed by communicating and connecting the plurality of pipes in a tree-like form capable of supplying a pressurized fluid in one direction by using, as a starting point, one supply position 5 for supplying the pressurized fluid from a fluid supply source by the operation of a gridiron changing valve 10 formed in the gridiron and the downstream side of the detecting gridiron is blocked. The pressure of the pressurized fluid supplied to the detecting gridiron from the supply position is measured on the downstream side of the detecting gridiron, so that the presence of the leak position is determined based on the value of the pressure gradient from the supply position through the downstream side of the detecting gridiron.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
