PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediation system for supply and demand of merchandise for intermediating the supply and demand of merchandise between a retail store and a wholesaler by using a data base to be managed by a server. ;SOLUTION: Exclusive applications 11, 12 to be used by the retail store and the wholesaler respectively are provided from a server 7 to information terminals 4, 5 provided to the retail store 1 and the wholesaler 2 via a network 3. Then, each piece of stock information of the merchandise of the retail store and stock information of the merchandise of the wholesaler obtained through the network 3 by both applications are managed by registering them in data bases 15, 17 by the server. In addition, for merchandise the expiration date of which is fixed, stock is deleted on the side of a web server when the expiration date is elapsed and stock of the retail store is managed based on this result. When shortage of merchandise is generated, information is given from the server to the retail store, stock, price information of the wholesaler is automatically transmitted to an information terminal of the retail store and an order from the retail store is accepted by the server.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
