METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING MOLECULAR STRUCTURE MODEL FROM PDB DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for manufacturing a desired molecular structure model based on PDB (protein data bank) data in a short time and inexpensively. SOLUTION: The apparatus for manufacturing molecular structure model is provided with a molecular structure data transform program 10 which is constituted of a PDB data reading step (A) to read PDB data 1, a basic structure step (B) to obtain, from the PDB data, the position of a ball 3 constituting the molecular structure model 2 and the position and direction of a stick connecting the balls, an element setting step (C) to set the color and size of the ball for each element constituting the molecular structure model, a stick setting step (D) to set the color and thickness of the stick connecting atoms of the molecular structure model, and a STL (stereolithography) data outputting step (E) to transform the molecular structure model into a plurality of color-by- color STL data. Based on the outputted color-by-color STL data, the molecular structure model is manufactured using an RP device capable of multi-color modeling.
