PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable product production with a minimized initial investment and to efficiently produce a data-writing device that writes data in a ROM installed on a target board.;SOLUTION: Upon receiving a purchase request from producer B for producing PCBs, manufacturer A of a data-writing device for writing data in a ROM on a PCB(Printed Circuit Board) with a ROM writer via a conversion board receives PCB production specification information from the producer. The manufacturer designs and manufactures an optimum conversion board based on the specification information and delivers a data-writing device with the conversion board installed on the ROM writer. The producer uses the data-writing device to write data for producing PCBs and pays the purchase cost of the data-writing device to the manufacturer according to the production amount of PCBs within a predetermined period. The producer need to pay the cost after starting PCB production, while the manufacturer can manufacture the device based on the PCB specification on a build-to-order basis.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
