METHOD FOR THE APPLYING OF GRAPHICAL ELEMENTS AND/OR A TEXT ON MARBLE OR GRANITE SURFACES

The transfer of graphics and/or text to the surfaces of granite and marble is carried out as follows: graphic images are printed on foils by computer printers or by other means. The images are transferred to ''serigraphic'' screens as design-patterns for acid-etching of substances. Images are transferred by photochemical means. Wet screens are stretched over frames, mounted, allowed to dry, rendered photo-sensitive by an emulsion and dried, and placed in a dark room. Foils containing the images are placed on the backs of screens and pressed home by glass plates, followed by illumination. Exposed screens are washed, dried and secured above the stone surfaces. A dye is poured onto the screen and drawn down by a rubber scraper. Images transferred to the stone substrates are dried and areas not to be etched are protected. Acid is poured on and spread by brushing. Etched surfaces are rinsed by running water.
