The production of substituted xylo oligosaccharides comprises auto hydrolysis by steam and water for up to 24 hours at 100-250 [deg]C, of wood pulp materials. Also claimed is utilization of the process. CLAIMED UTILIZATION - The utilization is an animal and human foodstuffs, cellulose, glucose syrups, civil engineering composites and energy generation combustible fuels. EMBODIMENT - The xylane chains of the pulp materials are broken, and the product is obtained in solid form.
