A highly immunogenic protein against the intracellular pathogen agent Pisciickettsia salmonis is purified; said protein is further characterized b y its amino acids sequence, which are in turn useful for obtaining the protein through genetic engineering and kits and molecular markers for the diagnosis of this pathoge n. A vaccine is elaborated in order to prevent the salmonidae species infection with the Piscirickettsia salmonis pathogen agent.
