PURPOSE: A method for receiving signals encoded according to a 3GPP(3rd Generation Partnership Project) standard and a receiver therefor are provided to receive the signals encoded according to the 3GPP wideband CDMA standard by using coded control symbols as additional pilot symbols. CONSTITUTION: A device, having a TFCI(Transport Format Combination Indicator) decoder(7), a TFCI encoder(8), a multiplier(9), and the second channel estimator(10), uses coded control symbols as additional pilot symbols. A receiver is a rake receiver. The TFCI encoder(8), the multiplier(9), and the second channel estimator(10) re-encode decoded control symbols and use the re-encoded control symbols as additional pilot symbols. The TFCI encoder(8) re-encoding decoded control symbols is associated with the second channel estimator(10).
