PURPOSE: A method for managing an intellectual property for managing a patent application and a system thereof are provided to reduce a human power and cost for requesting an application and manage application details without additional data inputting process by automatically designating an attorney when an inventor and a patent staff input a technical field and making a draft of a specification be examined and the application be requested in a patent managing system in the case that an employee inventor applies a patent. CONSTITUTION: A research institute interface(110) is supplied for an employee who suggests an idea for an application of a patent and a patent staff. A patent attorney office interface(120) is supplied for a patent attorney office, which receives a request of a patent application. The research institute interface(110) is connected to a patent managing system(100) through a computing network in the company, or be connected through the Internet using a PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network). The patent attorney office interface(120) is connected to the patent managing system(100) through the Internet using the PSTN, a LAN(Local Area Network), etc. by wireless or wire. A data conversion unit(140) is mounted in each interface for transmitting/receiving data to the patent managing system(100), respectively. If the inventor and the patent staff input a technical field, the patent managing system(100) designates an attorney corresponded to the technical field and makes the inventor and the patent staff exam a specification prepared by the attorney for a patent application.
