Workflow System Capable of Version Management of Documents and the Method of Version Management of Documents Using the Same

PURPOSE: A workflow system capable of managing a document version and a method for managing a document version using the same are provided to manage a change history of a document file in a workflow system through an effective interface between the workflow system and an EDMS(Electronic Document Management System). CONSTITUTION: A user of a workflow system sets an environment value of an EDMS being used in the workflow system(S100). A workflow engine stores the set environment value in a memory. If the user commands a document work(S101) and the work command is received to the workflow engine through a client computer, a function of a file managing module corresponded to the command is called(S102). The called function calls an API(Application Program Interface) in a workflow adapter corresponded thereto(S103). The called API calls an adapter implementation module embodied capable of interfacing with a file managing module of a specific EDMS in an EDMS adapter corresponded to the environment value(S104). The adapter implementation calls a function of the file managing module of an EDMS server capable of performing the document work command(S105). In the case that contents of the document are modified as a result of the command performing result, the EDMS server stores a pre-modified document and a post-modified document separately(S106). The EDMS server transmits information of the post-modified document to the workflow engine(S107). The workflow engine stores the received document file information in a database(S108).
